Question: Why do people have to say the word hate towards a celebrity?

To me its screwed up I mean we all have freedom of speech but really the word hate? It bugs me because first of all they dont even know the person! Take Michael Jackson for example people always say "Oh well I hate Michael Jackson! " And im like did you even know him they say no! Well its like well why in the world do you hate him, you know? To me people shoudl at least say the words dont like it's better instead of hate. I understand that everyone has their own word on someone but seriously why do they use that word hate?? Does it bug you too??

I understand you 100%! "hate " is a BIG word. It is powerful. Like "love ", that is a powerful word as well. If you use words as dislike, or like then it would be completely unique. But what can we do about it? People overuse those words and they will probably never be gone. And what is more annoying is that, how can someone "hate " a celebritiy, when clearly you don't know them, their personality, if they really act like a "slut ", if they are nice, mean, etc. Seriously, people need to get a grip...

I know what you mean. there are a few celebs that i dont like but if i knew them i may feel different, i cant say i hate them coz i dont know them or have ever met them

Most of the time I say I don't like or care for them. There are exceptions, Jackson being one. I hate him, because I hate people who take advantage of children (pedophiles) as he did.

You know what? Let them hate. The celebrity that they're hating on probably deserves better "fans/ supporters " than them anyway. They won't stop hating just because we tell them too.

I know what you mean! Yeah, it does bug me. I don't say i hate a celebrity, i just say i 'seriously dislike them' or something like that. I mean, if you don't know them personally, what's the point of saying you hate them? Besides, i don't hate anyone, if i know them or not, so i choose to never use that word towards someone.

I agree with you I never use the word hate, and I don't hate anything or anyone. People who say they hate celebrities are ignorant because how can you hate someone you have never met and do not know personally?

I don't like to say the word hate. I would say simply that I don't care for that person. Hate, ugly and idiot are 3 words that I don't like hearing.
